She chose a different road today
She chose a new path
longer and slower
still the destination she intended
it was on a whim
not a calling 
just a choice
for play, for fun
and because of this
tiny little action
she saw the clearest beautiful waters
she saw the bluest of skies
and for a pleasant surprise
while she swam in the deep blue
two dolphins came by and swam with her, too
one jumping and playing 
she was close enough to see their slick skin 
shiny coat glistening under the sun
​as it jumped and spun 
smiles all smiles
she and they. 
it was not a dream
she saw them swim away
it was not a dream
sleep and awake become one
